In 2026 folks are looking to build out their repertoires with technical skills such as coding, APIs, and other tools training. This is no surprise as organizations are implementing their AI solutions. Organizations are moving past the casual use of free and public LLMs and into strategic enterprise solutions, and tech comm teams are finding they need to be versed on RAG, KG, APIs, MCPs, AoTs, CoTs, and the rest of alphabet soup that goes along with GenAI. These skills are becoming critical for content creators as part of understanding and functioning within the full content creation ecosystem. Moreover, content strategies need to consider GenAI and their affiliated technologies for the most effective and appropriately sized implementation.

A second leading factor in this is the need for API writers. API writers are the people who know where the wires actually go. APIs have become a key need for GenAI enterprise implementations – it’s how the LLMs interface with all the parts. When everything is “just an integration,” they’re the ones making sure the wires don’t get tangled.   Happy Learning!
